On this day I was given a wondrous ticket to the working dress rehearsal of Giselle performed by the English National Ballet. This ballet is about a peasant girl named Giselle, who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. Not only was the Ballet most beautiful but it helped me to understand more of the nature of the love; of life;of death. In reality I have more than x 10 gratitudes for this day; but here goes;
For the dancers & musicians who dedicate themselves to their art & in so doing have the capacity to lift their audience to touch the divine; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For Theatres like the Coliseum that enabled Giselle & through beautiful surroundings lifted me out of the mundane & enabled me to feel that I touched the divine; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For the friend who give me a ticket to the working dress rehearsal, what can I say; other than; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
For the opportunity to observe the bare bones of Giselle within a working dress rehearsal; so interesting; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For the audience who engaged with the rehearsal; observing their loved ones maybe & young girls falling asleep with their head on their mothers shoulders; Giving their thoughts; taking their photos; writing their reviews; it was wonderful to be a part of that audience; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For the story of Giselle; so relevant to my work; & for everyone who has the courage to lose themselves in love; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For the ushers selling ice cream (salted caramel; the first time I have tried that flavour)! & giving their opinions on the performance; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For grace & magic, colour & beauty; light & dark; warmth inside the theatre & cold outside; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For a brief respite away from my day to day world into a world that I do not have words for; Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
For the mastery of all of it & everyone involved that turned the whole experience into poetry. Thank You;Thank You;Thank You.
