Gratitude List 31/8/24.
1. I can’t believe that it is officially the end of summer. How fast it has flown! Now the nights are drawing in and tomorrow is the first day of autumn. For our seasons and the kindness that they contain: thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. At the end of July, by a deserted beach in Berwick on Tweed I discovered this small library. I liberated a detective story. When I had finished reading it, I left on the shelf in the corridor where I live in London. For generosity of spirit; thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Small acts of kindness like this library put rainbows on the street. Even on Long Acre, in Covent Garden, there was a row of coats with a sign; take a coat; leave a coat. For sweet abundance : thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. Writing this now and looking back over the day, I am not sure where it went! For a full day: thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I walked with Flo through the Embankment Gardens, these also contain a generosity of spirit due to their immaculate care. For gifts: thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. The day was truncated by meeting people that I know and stopping to chat. For deep conversations: thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I tried to work the new carpet cleaner. I think that we can safely say that I am not about to make a change in career! For people who can clean carpets: thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. I went to swim. For exercise: thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. Flo has a new swish purple collar and lead from Canada. She imbues a different vibe to when she wears her ‘caution do not pet’ regalia. Now she is looking chic rather than hardcore. Hmm watch this space! I will report back. For reformation: thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. A good thing about Saturday is the leftover food from Friday night dinner. For nourishment , deepest gratitude: thank you, thank you, thank you. Sent from my iPhone
