For light, depth and stillness: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Gratitude List 28/11/23

  1. The day was breathtakingly cold. For warmth, for shelter. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  2. Flo now has her winter coat on. At long last her claws have been clipped. It was not the case that she consented to this activity. Her nails were clipped under duress. Despite being muzzled and despite being held tightly, she still managed to convey her displeasure. For the capacity to express indignation (loudly): Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  3. With the cold came incised etched beauty. The day was bright, later so was the moon. For light, depth and stillness: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  4. Cecil Court, which cuts through from St Martins Lane to Charing Cross Road is decorated with 5 large garlands of lights. I saw these garlands being taken out of storage and put up by men standing on a cross between a fork lift truck and a mini-crane. For continuity, for care, for light: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  5. Jermyn Street and Regents Street are decorated with lights in the shape of angels.Again these are the same as last year. For routine, for angels that swoop across roads: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  6. The first client appointment of the day was at 11am. This gave me enough time (just) to walk with Flo to The Victoria Embankment Gardens and back beforehand. Some benches in the gardens are inscribed in memory of people who have been loved and passed over. I read the inscriptions and wonder about these people. For love, for the people whom I love, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  7. Some gratitude notes, to me, for my work crept into my inbox today. Indeed I am blessed. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  8. Yesterday was a Watkins Day. Again it was busy. For a chance to rest today. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  9. Today I was meant to swim. I did not swim. For discipline and for tomorrow: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  10. For balance and for peace across the world, for renewal and for repair. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
