Gratitude List 25/2/24
This morning a friend was due for coffee. I went and collected a 'too good to go', surprise bag from Baarista on Charing Cross Road. Too Good To Go Bags are a weakness of mine. I like the adventure of finding the store and receiving a package, careful wrapped without a choice. I think that this is because it feels as if I am being given a gift. For schemes that make the world interesting and a better place: Thank You, Thank You Thank You.
The box which I was given contained, amongst other things, a chocolate Croissant. Bingo! I shared this with my friend. For Chocolate Croissants (a splendid invention) Â Thank You, Thank You Thank You.
There is something rather lovely about being able to share a cup of coffee, and chat with a friend. For companionship: Â Thank You, Thank You Thank You.
Later I walked with Flo to the Victoria Embankment. It took a while longer to arrive there than usual because the Strand was closed to traffic. Many people were taking part in a 'winter run for Cancer'. To cross we had to dodge sideways and dash like crabs. For altruism and safe passage: Thank You, Thank You Thank You.
A steel band was playing in the centre of the road, to encourage the Runners. For generosity: Thank You, Thank You Thank You.
The Victoria Embankment Gardens can cause me to hold my breath. They have a Mary Poppins poignancy about them. Many of the benches contain endearments to beloveds who have passed away. The flower beds are of a bygone era. I swear that in these gardens people walk with decorum: For paintings drawn in chalk that are also real life: Thank You, Thank You Thank You.
The sky, the trees were exceptionally beautiful today. For expansiveness even in The City: Thank You, Thank You Thank You.Â
My son called me. Unexpectedly he told me that I have been a good mother and that he was proud of me. This kindness knocked me off my feet and led to a bout of tears. It felt so undeserved. I am the one who has been blessed with his presence in my life; For the art of being V'clempt (Yiddish for being torn between happiness and tears): Thank You, Thank You Thank You.Â
Work came my way to day. Again I am blessed.
For a day that felt very much alive, for the return of Gratitude. Deepest Thanks x 3.
