Gratitude List 19/12/23

1. This morning I awoke to the sound of rain. For the deep comfort of awaking in a warm bed, hearing the rain and not having to immediately get up. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

2. Flo had a need for her constitutional walk. She is not a big fan of the rain. I took her through Cecil Court and crossed over the Charing Cross Road. For empty and shiny streets, the softness of the day: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

3. As we continued into Leicester Square we encountered workmen in their wet weather gear. They feel an affinity with Flo as she too is in a bright florescent jacket. For people who smile and say hello: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

4. Leicester Square Gardens has been filled with a Pop UP Christmas Market. The trees are threaded with lights in the shape of stars. For outdoor space and Christmas Lights. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

5. A couple of days ago Flo bit someone in the Pub and drew blood (thankfully not very much-but still). I was not there but am assured that that person had been warned repeatedly not to pet her. With this knowlege deeply ingrained in my mind I keep an eagle eye on her when we are out. For being able to walk and go home without incident. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

6. Yesterday was my last day working in Watkins until the 29th of Dec. I am still not sure how I happened to end up there. It was an unasked for opportunity: For ways that way open up, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

7. Of course this is the time of year for reflection. I wish to be more focused and more diligent next year. For productivity: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

8. More Workshops are planned for next year. The first one is on the 14th of January 2024. Half of the spaces are already filled. For happiness: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

9. Although we are a Jewish household, once Hanukah is over Christmas creeps in. We make adaptation. For integration, for joyousness and for love. For blessings:  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

10. The holiday stretches in front of me. For reaching this time, this space, this season: The most profound gratitude. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
