Gratitude List 6/11/22
Due to inclement weather, Flo has been relegated to her waterproofs. The upside of this is that everyone else who wears hi-vis clothing smiles when they see her. The downside is that I have to stop them from stroking her in case she bites them. For peacefulness and lack of drama. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
This week I have been in receipt of great kindnesses, to the extent that my heart is full and I am v'clempt. (That is Yiddish for when your heart is full, stretched and painful holding tears and joy). Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
This week I have had great realisations and seen many shadows. For redemption. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
The plus side of all of this realisation is that my heart now feels open. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Like Icarus, I flew too close to the sun. Thanks to the kindness of my friends I did not fall. Deep is my love and gratitude. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Today Zachary returned to Exeter. At times, having him here, back in the flat, led me into great pain. Mostly because his sense of humour is so dry that I am reduced to incapacitating laughter, where I cannot catch my breath and feel that at any moment I might die. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Our neighbours came over for Apple cake. I have a deep love for these guys. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For the sweetness of the day. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For the roof above my head: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For love and for connection, for repair and for renewal, and for the skin of my teeth: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
