I gave them my prayers, that they should not be seduced by the bright lights.

Gratitude List 18/4/23

  1. Today I decided to go window shopping in Liberty's. I am not sure, maybe I went along once before. But that was many years ago. For exploration: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  2. My walk to Liberty's took me through Leicester Square. There I found two ducks, nonchalantly pecking at the lawn. Their matter of factness made me laugh. I gave them my prayers, that they should not be seduced by the bright lights, and make their way home, where ever home is for these two. I worry that it they made a nest in Leicester Square, it would be a fools paradise. No doubt the eggs would hatch but it's a long way to usher ducklings to the nearest water, which is I suspect St James Park. For the safety of ducklings everywhere: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  3. Some kind soul gave the statute of Charlie Chaplin in Leicester Square Park, a bunch of flowers. For whimsey:Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  4. The Tulips in Leicester Square filled me with delight. Planted in very straight and precise lines they are municipal and solid. For civic pride: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  5. Further along the Square I found that the Swiss Clock was being cleaned. This was quite an operation, involving a crane, a cloth and a bucket of water. For care; Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  6. The entrance to Liberty's was filled with flowers. Would You pay £45 for a small bouquet that included the jam jar? Perhaps this was a fair price? (I did not buy them!) For beauty: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  7. Liberty's allow dogs in. Flo seemed to be at home there: People spoke with her and enquired of her name. She rose to the occasion and held herself with pride. For Flo: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  8. Liberty's did not have what I wanted. I count this fact as a good thing. For being saved from myself: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  9. Coming home, I cut through the back of Regents Street, along Air Street and past Beak Street. Who on earth thought up this names? And Why? For alleyways, and cut throughs, for the paths in life, For adventure: Much and deep gratitude: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

  10. For an interesting day that contained much love. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
