Gratitude List 3/3/23
In pursuit of 10,000 steps I walked through St James Park and looped back home via China Town. For the sight of red lanterns against a grey sky: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
On this walk, Flo, in her bright pink coat, had her photo taken by a stranger. She took this event as her rightful due. For nonchalance: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
There was much business in the park today. There are preparations taking place. A sense of purposefulness pervades. Nests are being constructed and dreys are being enriched with last years fallen oak leaves. For spring: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Invited to my friends birthday dinner, I wrapped a present and wrote a card. I took the Underground to Finsbury Park and the overground to Palmers Green. Then I arrived. The Honouring of Birthdays is a fine tradition: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For an evening spent in kind and interesting company: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For friendships which stretch back years: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For a loan of a book written by an author whom I have not yet read (Helen Dunmore: how did I miss her?) Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
I was given two jars of honey. What a rich gift: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
By the end of the day I had walked 14,000 steps. For the return of my energy: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For the sweetness and the integrity of the day: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
