Gratitude List 22/12/22
Zach is here. I am happy. He is his usual sarcastic humourous self. It's a good job that he doesn't share all of his jokes with me. He is very wicked. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Josh is also here. Our family is tiny, yet strong. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Flo has a limp. This is because she managed to strain her leg chasing wildly after the pigeons. In one paw she encapsulates patheticness. For her recovery: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
I summon up enough energy to make some latkes. Even although I manage to burn them, they are good enough. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Years overlay the prayers. I stand caught in a hologram of time passed and the present. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Hanukah is a festival of courage, miracles, of stretching resources, and knowing that the 'Universe has your back', Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For the ritual of lighting the Hanukah candles, deepest gratitude. 1000 thank yous.
We make plans for the holidays. Various bids are cast on to the table. These are mostly declarations "I am quite happy to do nothing!". "I am not intending to eat sugar", "I do not need any wine". Out of the posturing and melee, somehow agreements are reached. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Looking ahead, to next year, I feel a cautious optimism. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For all of the sweetness, for the reaching of this season, for the roof over my head and my work. My wonderful clients. Too many blessing to count. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
