Gratitude List 25/11/22
The inscription above reads "Prayer at its highest, is gratitude, for that which already is". I agree. For everything: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
It is Friday, the day of Shabbat. I decided to make my own Challah, the sweet bread for Friday night prayers. I did not read through the recipe properly beforehand. The process took x 5 hours! The loaf that I produced was so exuberant it looked as if it could dance around on its own. For the sanctity of Shabbat. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Friends joined the Table for Shabbat. Without these friends, I would be poor. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Flo spent the day behaving impeccably. This made up for her running out of the park, yesterday. When I walk out with Flo, strangers greet me to say "Your dog is so beautiful". And I bask in Flo's reflected light. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
I sat in St Giles Churchyard and spoke with my mum on the phone. It's taken a half-century for us to manage not to argue. But we got there in the end. for this small fact, I have immense gratitude. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For all of the life in Covent Garden, there is also an underbelly and shadows. Not wanting to 'spiritually bypass", I choose to see both sides. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
I have chores. These are moving along, but slowly. For progression. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
It seems that, as I go about my day, I have small chats with people, who are strangers, that I meet. This engagement is most precious to me. People are so interesting. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
November, with leafless branches, has a special clarity, which I appreciate. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
For all of the love that gives meaning to my life and nourishes me. The most profound gratitude. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
